Sarv + Hitay = Sarvhitay

The phonetic similarity between the English word Serve, and the Sanskrit word Sarv which means "Everything", forms the foundation of our vision.

Combining these concepts with Hitay, a Sanskrit word that stands for "Benefit", we adopt the guiding principle of being On Duty for the Benefit of All.

Our logo, the Circle, symbolizes the universality, completion, and diversity that aligns with our vision, inviting a sense of balance and unity.

संगच्छध्वम्

Walk Together

Sarvhitay’s tagline “walk together” (सं गच्छध्वं) is inspired by an ancient Indian scripture called Rigveda.

सं गच्छध्वं सं वदध्वं सं वो मनांसि जानताम् ।
देवा भागं यथा पूर्वे संजानाना उपासते ॥

“Meet together, talk together, let your minds apprehend alike; in like manner as the ancient godsconcurring accepted their portion of the sacrifice.”

समानो मन्त्रः समितिः समानी समानं मनः सह चित्तमेषाम्।
समानं मन्त्रमभि मन्त्रये वः समानेन वो हविषा जुहोमि ॥

“Common be the prayer of these (assembled worshippers), common be the acquisition, common the purpose, associated be the desire. I repeat for you a common prayer, I offer for you with a common oblation.”

समानी व आकूतिः समाना हृदयानि वः ।
समानमस्तु वो मनो यथा वः सुसहासति ॥

“Common, (worshipppers), be your intention; common be (the wishes of) your hearts; common be your thoughts, so that there may be thorough union among you.”

The best way to learn is to teach.

You can plan life, but you should always be ready to stumble into the opportunities it has for you.

My entire career was somewhat unplanned. Initially, I wanted to construct airplanes, however, back in the 90s there was not enough demand for that skill here in Austria, so I went for Technical Physics, yet realizing that to me the most fascinating profession out there was with software development. So, after completing studies in Business Administration, I joined Capgemini to contribute to the back then largest IT insurance-development project. I loved it! …
… and I as a developer, I had to acknowledge quickly, how critical software testing is to the success of software development.

Why not evolve software testing from a boring task into a professional discipline, establishing a new form of test automation, bringing test automation back to business testers rather than software developers?
After years of test consulting and parallel development of my own product Tosca, time was ready to found Tricentis in 2007. What a ride! A great partnership at the executive level with my co-founder Franz Fuchsberger and CEO Sandeep Johri freed me up to drive the product vision and the education of employees and customers towards the most efficient and effective way of software testing.
After 10 years, Tricentis had made it to being the first Austrian unicorn, nowadays being close to 1,500 people, accounting for more than $ 300 m in revenue and ready to move on without my guidance.

With my company Katharo Ventures, I support young companies’ endeavor of successfully mastering this challenging business world. A good friend and mentor told me once: “It’s the most satisfying thing to see the ones who worked for you and who you worked with grow into leadership roles!” – and I guess what this next chapter in my business career is all about.
