Asha
Started my career as a project engineer and am presently working as a Test automation architect with an overall 6 years of experience in test automation. My day-to-day activities involve overview of test automation across different testing phases, in different teams by enabling, collaborating and communicating with the required stakeholders. I work towards customer success by closely working with them in understanding requirements, to help mitigate any impediments in the journey and enable the team to deliver the same on-time with impact.
I firmly believe that if one is spending a minute on something, then there should be a value addition. After all, one is putting in effort, time and energy. Then it should always be to do the right thing, Time & Energy is more important than anything.
The brain is like a system which needs updating from time to time. On the same note, an individual should also work on learning new skills, gaining knowledge to keep up with the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity) environment. Today, the only thing that is constant is “Change”.
Always remember, to be kind and thoughtful of everyone, including your least favorite moment, you never know what others are going through, treat people as you expect you to be treated as. To give importance to your mental health, have a tab on what you are feeling, remember not feeling a thing is also a sign, and do reach out to people, anyone and everyone, the world is still kind, thoughtful and you will always are loved by people, they might not say it because humans are built that way, but always and always say what you are feeling with the right set of people.
Everyone is here to be unique and to live life the way they want, so there is absolutely no room for comparison. You are best in the way you exist, but there is always and always a way to be bigger and better than we were yesterday.
I recently completed my Executive General Management Program (e-GMP) from IIM-Tiruchirappalli.
Blogs
First of all, I'm not a blogger, I used to and still write notes which are pretty much raw and intended for me, things like Asha you need to be like this, do this, or about the memories, moments, and any gratitudes.
Then later I started expressing it to others via messages, something like a letter to my special people, who mattered a lot to me, and who would not judge the lengthy letters. At the same time, I started writing the same notes in another which happens to be a blogger tool.
About a year ago there was a contest by Tricentis to write a tech blog, on a topic that I was confident about, so I officially wrote that as my first blog. My thoughts around all these notes, blogs, and messages/letters are that life is very short and emotions should not be kept to ourselves. Live in the moment, thank people, and be grateful. At the end of the day when I go to bed I try not to have any regrets or pending thoughts. I do not take the "what other people might think of" factor, all the blogs are always a note to me, to the future self from past experiences and the rest is a bonus.

Explorations
I’m not a traveler, I would love to be, but I cannot call myself one. I like the idea of exploring places, cultures, people, and their emotions. I do not look for an exotic place and then travel, I find my regular commute to the office also fascinating, and though I can afford to travel alone, I nowadays prefer to travel by a means of public transport, to observe how fortunate I am or how happiness can be found in smallest things or how much vast is this life. For me traveling is not about the destination but about the journey that matters which is a mimic of our lives. Life is like a mirror it will show what we think (eg., if you think you are beautiful then you look beautiful always)
My Inspiration
Polaris is a star in the northern circumpolar constellation of Ursa Minor. It is designated α Ursae Minoris (Latinized to Alpha Ursae Minoris) and is commonly called the North Star or Pole Star. It is the brightest star in the constellation and is readily visible to the naked eye at night. The position of the star lies less than 1° away from the north celestial pole, making it the current northern pole star.
It's so close to the celestial pole, it traces out a very small circle over 24 hours. So Polaris always stays in roughly the same place in the sky. The stable position of the star in the Northern Sky makes it useful for navigation.
Because Polaris lies nearly in a direct line with the Earth's rotational axis "above" the North Pole—the north celestial pole—Polaris stands almost motionless in the sky, and all the stars of the northern sky appear to rotate around it.
Learnings
I think the brain is a library and we need to always treat it as the special one, always be open to all the new knowledge and the possibility of that knowledge becoming life's savior at many times.Sure, we might not remember everything, but we would say, I'm sure I have read it somewhere and I can try, so new experiences are only possible with an "I can try" confidence.
Quotes
Don’t know who gave this, “Never Give Up” is my life lesson. I do not give up, not just in my work but most importantly in relationships, in emotions, and life. There have been multiple situations in my life, where the “Success” as looked at and welcomed by people came to me only at my last segment, in the “let’s try again and see what happens” try. I do not think there is someone who can make us do wonder, it comes within us when we do not give up on ourselves, on others, or on goodness.
Food
I’m not a foodie, I eat only because it is vital, but if I have to choose then it is anything and everything my mum cooks.. who disagrees with that 😛 P.S.: I thought about this longer than all the questions… I like coffee though, any kind of caffeine is welcome and I think at this point I’m living on coffee.
My Experience of
Team Building Workshop
Always, I come to any of the workshops with the thought that this will be better than the last one. I always value the time and energy of any individual and I take high caution when there is any meeting, appointment, or anything of that sort. Chanakya workshop was interesting to me, I knew Vaibhav is up to something, the moment I heard Sarvhitay, and a few days later this maiden mentorship I just enrolled with an open mind and full heart. This mentorship had intrinsic value with no extravagant promises made and I could bring all my energy into it. I have a very weird schedule but despite that, I was able to spend 3 to 4 hours of our Saturday with no fatigue and high energy throughout. I have been amazed many times by the connections and revelations of the topics we discussed to day-to-day scenarios. In the end, with great help could actually come up with a real-time scenario for the final project.
Autonomy and Ownership
The autonomy and ownership, from this we were able to get a lot of ideas from the team and build a series of R&R for the whole team, The thoughts and responsibilities now come from the team and the only thing the leader should do is to analyze the risk and benefits(Long-term)
The Mickey Mouse Video
The Mickey Mouse video will always be my favourite, the way we all have different perspectives for the same short video. The fascinating factor is that no matter how many times I watch it, I find something new. the fact we arrived during our discussions that one person/one brain can only think a little but when combined with many in a team, can come up with multiple dimensions and hence more output. I always had seen that a leader/manager sets a goal and the rest should follow but the above thought indicated collaboration within a team. An idea of looking at different timelines from different perspectives can give different yet coherent results is my lesson from that Team building activities may sound silly to many but actually adds a lot of value when it comes to showcasing trust, enthusiasm, and adaptability to a given environment. When we talk about one brain, it might be limited but when many brains work together the entire permutation combination changes. There are numerous possibilities and out-of-the-box thinking happens during a casual discussion often. We have to understand that the leadership model has changed over the years. Gone were those days when a command followed the word. In this era of uncertainty, complex challenges, and vulnerability we need progressive leadership wherein one is open to ideas. Goals & targets are always going to be there but the way has and going ahead will change depending on the ecosystem.
The Final Project
Emotional Intelligence and Empathy
Summary of my final project:
The project was centered around Emotional intelligence and empathy. Domain knowledge has never been a problem but the real challenge has always been people management, crisis handling & communication. As told by Dan Oswald “Communication must be HOT. That is – Honest, Open & Two-ways”. In the corporate setup of today, understanding and dealing with human emotions gets you success. A small act of kindness and supporting peers by just showing empathy can change the entire ball game. You can not solve everyone’s problem and it’s not expected of you either but a supportive Ecosystem does a world of good for everyone and keeps the system humanely alive. The objective is to learn how to enable a team to handle a crisis without any negative commotion, the thoughts a leader should think of while communicating with the team, and continuous risk assessment.
My learning from preparation of the project:
Design:
How to filter noise from the signal, there were many thoughts around the concept, an eagerness to deliver many objectives in a session, I understood that we always should consider the audience in our mind while delivering any message and that the message should be precise, can easily be recalled Preparation: with filtered thoughts, now we needed to come up with scenarios that would be our vector for the message delivery Again, there was a possibility of many scenarios and multiple solutions against each, we had to regroup our thoughts, and pick a scenario which is relevant to everyone and can be easily assessed.
Execution:
After illustrating the scenario which turned out to be relevant to other domains (non-IT) as well, there was a euphoric moment where the message was delivered not by me, the source but by the participants, and it was beautifully summarized as well.
Advice for future attendees of the workshop:
It is the most ideal and much-needed workshop, there is no one way of application of the learnings here, and there are no prerequisites required either except dedication and an open mind to take it all in. I have seen multiple domains of people as participants and finally, as part of Ashtasiddhi, we are not alike and our takeaways or applications aren’t either, but it was the same mentor and the same topics.
Thoughts before registration for workshop:
All the initiatives by Vaibhav are very relevant and required by all individuals…
The topics are much needed for me, kindly accept my request for this program.
